Circle of Spring Stamp Set which uses the framlits called Wonderful Wreath sold on page 172. A very versatile set.

Saturday, June 20, 2015

This month's blog features some new items from the Brand New Catalog which came out on June 2. This is always a fun time, just like a kid looking at the Christmas catalog making my wish list.

As soon as I saw this Vintage Leaves set, I knew I had to have it. It is featured on page 88 in the catalog. It also has a coordinating framelits sold on page 172 which makes it even better. I stamped the leave in three different colors. One is a brand new color called Delightful Dijon. The other two leaves are Rich Razzelberry and Bermuda Bay. I then punched them out with the new framelits. I embossed the background with the Woodgrain folder sold on page 174.
The Happy Birthday is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. I stamped it in the Delightful Dijon color and then rolled the outside in the Bermuda Bay to get the different colored effect.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hop to the next blog of Colleen's for some great inspiration!

Retired Stamp Set Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's blog Hop featuring just one of the retired stamp sets that Stampin Up is retiring this year. The new catalogs will be starting on June 2!!

Here is the card I am featuring this month. Look further down my blog to see the products that it takes to make this card.
Happy Blog Hopping!

I embossed the 4 x 5 1/4 Coastal Cabana with the polka dot embossing folder. Next, using the Gold Encore ink pad, I brushed it against the paper to ink only the raised polka dots.
I stamped the candles in Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp  Cantaloupe. I hand cut each of them out.
I stamped the Celebrate SWEET Birthday with Strawberry Slush and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.
Rounded the corners on the Baked Brown Sugar. Wrapped the twine around it.
Apply the Gold Foil to the already embossed, inked Coastal Cabana and adhere all together!
Using the Gold Dazzling Details, add some accent to the candle flames.

Happy Birthday To You

Once a month we meet on the third Monday to do some creative stamping. Here is one of the cards we will be making at our next class. It features the Tag Talk stamp set and the Confetti Celebration designer paper. Tangelo twist is a nice bright color I have added with ribbon, cardstock, and ink.
I think that is the best part about the Stampin Up products is the coordination of all of their products.
I hope you have enjoyed this card.
We make a total of 4 cards at this card class and their is a different hostess each month that gets free goodies too!
Happy Stampin!

Yah, It's time for our next Blog Hop!! The theme this month is Spring has Sprung.
Here is my version of a Happy Spring Card. I love my flower gardens and can't wait to start digging in the dirt and watch those spring flowers start to wiggle their way out of hibernation.

If you would like to make this card, you will need these supplies.
Hardwood Stamp Set
Petal Potpourri Stamp Set
Matching Flower Medallion Punch (Buy the bundle and save 15%)
Crazy about You Stamp Set for the Happy Spring
Petite Petals Stamp Set and coordinating punch
Bird Builder Punch
Smokey Slate embossing powder
Versa Mark Pad
Heat tool
Strawberry Slush Marker
Crisp Cantalope Marker
Sahara Sand ink pad
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Mossy Meadow cardstock for leaves
Pistachio Pudding cardstock for leaves
Natural Ivory for card base

Stamp the assorted flowers with the versa mark pad. Sprinkle the Smokey Slate embossing power over all and shake off excess powder.
Using the heat tool, heat  until all are shiney. Be careful to not rub them unless they have turned to a glossy color.

Next color in your flowers using the markers. The flower shown was colored with the Crisp Cantaloupe in the center and the Strawberry Slush on the outer petals. After I did this flower, I ventured out a little and also put Crisp Cantaloupe throughout the petal also. Look closer at the finish card and you will see how that turned out. I liked that look too.

Next, using the Flower Medallion Punch, I like to place it upside down so you can see your image, punch out your flowers.
The smaller flowers get punched out with the petite petals punch.

Punch out your leaves and stems with the Bird Builder punch using the two coordinating greens.

Using the Sahara Sand, stamp your hardwood stamp on about 3/4 of your very vanilla 4 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock.

Start layering your flowers and stems to your liking. I used the 2 way glue to attach the stems and leaves since they are quite thin in places.

Stamp your Happy Spring on the bottom. I put both words on one block so I don't have to worry about getting them straight. Attach all to Natural Ivory card base cut at 5 1/2 and 8 1/2.

Hope you have enjoyed this month's card.
Now either hop back or hop forward to see lots more fun creations.

Thursday, Stamp A Stack card Class

Thursday's class will feature these three cards. We will make 2 each of the three cards. The Butterfly card was also featured in last week's Blog Hop made by Susan Campfield. I thought it was so cute and elegant that I wanted to feature in my class. Did you enjoy the Blog Hop? We will be featuring a Blog Hop on the 20th of the month for the next 5 months for sure.
The second card features the stamp set Sheltering Tree using Old Olive and Early Espresso. Love, love the two step stamping method to get multi colors on your card creations.
The last card using the cute little bike from Sheltering Tree and the fun framelit cutout from the Celebrate today set. Really adds some depth when you can layer on your card.
If you live a distance and can not make it to my class but would still like to get the cards, just place a $50 order and I will send them to you plus you can pick out a free Sale A Bration item too!

Creative Inking Blog Hop

This month's Blog Hop is full of color using Stampin Up fun Designer Paper and the new Blendables.
Supplies needed:
  1. Coastal Cobana Cardstock and ink
  2. Whisper White cardstock
  3. Best Year Ever Designer paper (Free during Sale A Bration)
  4. Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and coordinating punch page 23 Occasion mini
  5. Gold Basic metal Buttons page 13 of the Occasion mini
  6. Calypso Coral Blendables  (Free during Sale A Bration)
  7. Momento ink pad page 212

Stamp flower on lower corner of Whisper White paper. You will be punching this out and layering over with Designer paper.

Using the Blendables, color in your flower. The blendables come in a set of three. Light, Medium, and Dark. I like to do my flower in the light first and add my darker shading last. After you are done, punch out your flower with the Flower Medalion Punch.

Using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch sold on page 222, punch a ribbon out of the Calypso Coral cardstock to layer over your 2 x 4 designer paper which your have cut two of using both designs.

Another great Stamp Set in the Occasion Mini is the Crazy about You set sold on page 31. Here I have used the Happy Birthday and stamped on my Whisper White. Layer the Happy and Birthday on one block to make it easier to stamp.

Having fun Stampin!

Just having some fun today down in my Stamp Room.  Sometimes I get a clutter on my desk that I don't really like from doing past projects.
So I enjoy seeing what I can create from the left over pieces that I have laying there.
It gets the creativity going!

Starting soon, I will be joining a Blog Hop! This is where you can see many different blogs from Stampers all over the states. Each demonstrator has so much to offer. We will have a theme each month so it will be a little homework for me but fun.

Keep checking back.

Detailed Framelits-cutting them out.

I am so excited to show you this amazing trick that another demonstrator shared with me yesterday! I was so excited that I actually woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it and couldn't wait to share it with you.

Do you know those gorgeous and oh so cute framelits that are so detailed that they are a pain in the rear to cut out. You have to use the paper piercing tool to wiggle all of of those tiny pieces out. Well do I have a trick for you...oh you are just going to love this.

I will be demonstrating the new Butterflies thinlit die that is available on the 6th of January in the new Occasions catalog that you should have received in the mail already! Shown on page 26 and yes it comes in a bundle so you can save 15% too! I love butterflies. Anyway lets get started.

This is the medium sized butterfly in the kit. Place the framelit cutting side up. Yes Cutting side up.

Lay your piece of cardstock over the framelit. Layer the other plexiglass over the top.

Run it through the Big Shot.
Remove the top plexiglass.
Do not remove the paper. Leave it there.

Now this is the fun part!!!
Use some cheap fabric softener sheets.
Layer about 4 of them and place over the already cut image. Place the plexiglass back on top and run it through
the Big Shot again.

Carefully lift off the dryer sheets!! Isn't that neat? It peels it right off of  your die! No picking! Just neat.

And the best part is that it does not cut the dryer sheets so you can reuse them over and over again.

I was just so excited to show you this because I think it was just a pain to get all of those little pieces out. Framilits like the snowflake and large doily was just a pain.

Hope you enjoyed this new product training, now get to the craft room and enjoy.
Happy Stampin,
Paulette
