Reflections Card

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days. We took a little vacation with family to get some warmth from the Sun! It was a good trip but now back to work.
I will be showing you how to do a card that shows a reflection.

This is the card I will be demonstrating. Notice the reflection of the goose in the water. Obviously you just can't stamp the goose and then turn the paper and stamp it again because the goose would be facing the wrong way. Let's go through this step by step so you can see how it is done.
This card uses the Wetlands Stamp Set sold on page 69 item 126695 for wood and 126697 for clear. I will be using the Basic Black, Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand inks and cardstock. Vanilla too.

Stamp the image of the upper part of a 2 3/4 x 4  1/2 piece of vanilla cardstock.
Now I stamped the same image on a plastic sheet. If you have the Stamp A Ma Jig, this is the plastic I am using. It is sold on page 197 item number 101049,

Now place the ink side down opposite of your already stamped goose.
Holding the sheet with one hand, carefully rub over the image to transfer it to your paper. Rub over it quite a few times.

Next we are going to fill in some color. I am using the blender pen and the cover of the ink pad. You do not want to dip the blender pen directly onto the pad. So with the ink pad closed, squish the cover down onto the ink. When you open the ink pad you will see ink on the cover. This is where you get your ink with your blender pen. Color in the goose as you prefer.

Now we will add some color using our Sponge Daubers. These are sold on page 164 in sets of 12 . Item number 102892.

Simply place on your finger, dab onto the ink pad, and fill in where you want color.

Do this with the Old Olive for the grass.
Marina Mist for the water and lightly on the sky.
Sahara Sand for the chest on the goose.

After you are done sponging, I used a gel pen to whiten his color on his neck just to make that stand out a little more.  The gel pen is sold on page 163 item number 105021.

Next I layered this onto a Old Olive 3 x  4  3/4 sheet of paper.

On my second sheet of vanilla size 3  3/4 x 5, I sponged just the edge of it with Old Olive using the dauber again. I then layered my stamped goose onto that.

I am now ready to layer it onto my main card of Marina Mist.

Almost done! Now to add by birthday greetings and it is ready to go. This stamp set is great because it comes with 3 sayings. That is one of the nice thing about Stampin Up and their stamp sets. They are complete so you can just make so many cards with just one stamp set.

Remember to stamp your saying and then punch them out with your punch upside down. This way you can see where you have stamped and won't waste any paper.
Layer your Birthday Greetings on to a Scallop Old Olive and your card is complete! This is a great card for that guy in your life!
Happy Stampin and Enjoy.

Paulette
